Is Conny right for your event?

You decide. Here's what Conny needs from an event, and the few things it never does.

What an event needs

Conny is good for your event if

The more of these your event has, the more people get from Conny. Meeting only the first still works, just with fewer connections.

  1. People meet face to face.In the same room, or live online with time to talk: breakout rooms or small groups on your own video call, not a webinar where people only watch.
  2. People meet someone new. There's time and space to talk, not just sit and listen.
  3. There's a reason to follow up.People might work together, refer each other, learn from each other or meet again.
  4. People come back.A series, a community or a network where the same people turn up to more events. Conny works for a one-off too, but it gets more valuable the more events someone has been to.

Check your event

Four questions, one for each of the above.

1. How do people take part?

Live online counts when there's time to talk.

2. Is there time to meet someone new?

Time and space to talk, not just sit and listen.

3. Is there a reason to stay in touch?

People might work together, refer each other, learn from each other or meet again.

4. Do the same people come back?

A series, a community or a network where the same faces turn up.

Answer all four to see how Conny fits. Nothing you pick is sent anywhere.

Events that work well

Wherever people meet and come back.

Paid events and free ones both fit. Keep your own ticketing: Conny brings in your attendee list and never sells tickets or takes a cut.

Events like these

  • A chamber after-five, or a breakfast before work.
  • A monthly dinner where the same people come back each time.
  • A workshop, a masterclass or a professional body's branch night.
  • A cohort or accelerator programme that meets over months.
  • A speed-mentoring night.
  • A golf day, where four strangers share a group for four hours.

Around a bigger event, or further afield

  • A sports club's night for its sponsors and supporters.
  • The breaks, side dinners and after-parties of a conference.
  • An expo or an awards night, for the people who meet there.
  • A smaller event in a regional town, so people don't have to drive to the city every time.
  • A lunchtime session online, in small groups, so people from all over the country meet each other.

What happens at a Conny event

Conny does the emails and the introductions. You run the room.

  1. The invitationFrom your own list. One tap and your guests are in.
  2. The run-upWho's going and who to meet, sent for you a week before and the day before.
  3. The doorCheck people in on your phone. Walk-ins join on the spot.
  4. On the nightGuests scan badges to connect. The wall goes up on your screen.
  5. The morning afterEveryone gets the people they met, with a thank you to you.

The whole run is on How Conny works. How Conny looks after people's information is in the privacy statement. What you see as a host, and who Conny works with, is on What Conny stands for.

What Conny never does

If a sponsor asks for the list, send them here.

Conny never

  • Deals with sponsors. Conny works with you, the organiser, and gives sponsors nothing from your event: no attendee list, no lead list, no results.
  • Sells connections. Anyone from a sponsor or an exhibitor who comes is there like everyone else, and connects by meeting people.
  • Sells placement. Nobody pays to be suggested or to have their event put in front of people.
  • Runs watch-only events. A webinar or a broadcast where people only listen isn't a Conny event, because nobody meets anyone.

You keep what you've always had.

Your own attendee list, and what people choose to share.
